Socrates

Socrates (c. 470–399 BCE) was an ancient Greek philosopher from Athens. He pioneered the Socratic method of questioning, profoundly influencing Western philosophy. He left no writings; his teachings are known through Plato's dialogues. He was sentenced to death by drinking hemlock.
