Each figure is scored on 6 dimensions (0—100 scale) based on structured historical data: Military (10%), Political (20%), Influence (20%), Legacy (20%), Leadership (15%), Strategy (15%). The weighted total produces the final ranking.
Scores are computed from structured sub-indicators in the database. Scale factors adjust for era (Ancient ×0.85, Modern ×1.0) and civilization size (Eastern ×1.05, Other ×0.80) to account for differences in population and military scale.
Comparisons are limited to 2—3 figures to ensure readability and statistical meaningfulness.
±5 points per dimension — Sub-scores are derived from historical records with inherent uncertainty. Two figures within 5 points on a dimension should be considered roughly equivalent in that area.
±3 points overall — The weighted combination of 6 dimensions produces a total score with approximately ±3 points of uncertainty. Differences of less than 3 points are not statistically significant— the figures are effectively tied.

Ferdinand I inherited the County of Castile from his father Sancho III of Navarre. He later expanded his territory through conquest and marriage, laying the foundation for the Kingdom of Castile.
Ferdinand I defeated and killed King Bermudo III of Le
Ferdinand I was crowned 'Imperator totius Hispaniae' (Emperor of all Spain) in 1056, claiming suzerainty over all Christian and Muslim rulers in Iberia. This title reflected his military dominance and political ambition.
Upon his death, Ferdinand I divided his kingdom among his sons: Sancho II received Castile, Alfonso VI received Le
Wang Geon (Taejo) overthrew the Later Goguryeo state and established the Goryeo dynasty, with its capital at Songak (Kaesong). This marked the beginning of a new era in Korean history.
Taejo married women from powerful local clans to secure their loyalty and integrate regional powers into the Goryeo state. This policy helped stabilize the new dynasty.
Taejo completed the unification of the Later Three Kingdoms (Later Goguryeo, Later Baekje, and Silla) under Goryeo rule. This ended the period of division and established a unified Korean state.
Taejo issued the Ten Injunctions, a set of political guidelines for his successors. These stressed the importance of Buddhism, diplomacy with China, and avoiding internal conflict.
Ferdinand calling himself "Emperor of all Spain" is just pure propaganda. Wang Geon actually conquered and held territory for 500 years. Ferdinand's title was empty words that took centuries to back up - like me calling myself "King of Mars" and hoping nobody checks. Come back when you've actually unified something.
The "Emperor of Spain" title is historically laughable when you check the sources. At the time of Ferdinand's coronation, Muslim taifas controlled more than half the peninsula and were paying him paltry tributes that he spun as "empire." Meanwhile Taejo actually unified real territory with functioning bureaucracy. One guy had a fancy hat, the other had tax records.
Both are overrated conquerors of small provinces. Ferdinand never controlled half of Iberia, and Taejo's "unification" was just annexing two other Korean kingdoms that were culturally identical. Let's not pretend either created some grand empire. Ferdinand was a middle-manager who got lucky with Muslim infighting; Taejo was a regional strongman who bullied his neighbors. Neither deserves epic treatment.
