Tokugawa Ieyasu

Tokugawa Ieyasu (1543–1616), Japanese general and unifier, founded the Tokugawa shogunate after victory at Sekigahara (1600). He established the Edo period, a 250-year era of peace, centralizing power and isolating Japan.
