Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus

Gracchus served as praetor in Hispania Citerior, where he fought against the Celtiberians. He defeated them in battle and imposed a treaty that brought peace to the region for several years.

Gracchus founded the city of Gracchuris (modern Alfaro, Spain) as a Roman colony. This settlement helped consolidate Roman control over the Ebro valley and provided land for Roman veterans.

As consul, Gracchus campaigned in Sardinia against the rebellious Sardinian tribes. He defeated them and imposed a treaty that secured Roman control over the island, earning a triumph.

Gracchus was elected consul for a second time and later served as censor. During his censorship, he conducted a census and oversaw public morals, maintaining traditional Roman values.
