Saluva Narasimha

Saluva Narasimha, a general under the Sangama dynasty, staged a coup and seized the throne of Vijayanagara. He established the Saluva dynasty, ending the rule of the Sangama line and beginning a new period of military-led governance.

Saluva Narasimha repelled an invasion by the Bahmani Sultanate, securing Vijayanagara's northern borders. The victory stabilized the empire after the internal turmoil of the Sangama collapse.

Saluva Narasimha reorganized the imperial administration, reducing the power of provincial governors and strengthening the central bureaucracy. He appointed loyal military commanders to key posts, ensuring tighter control over the empire.
