Perseus of Mycenae

Perseus, guided by Athena and Hermes, beheaded the Gorgon Medusa, a monster whose gaze turned people to stone. He used a polished shield as a mirror to avoid direct eye contact, then used Medusa's head as a weapon against his enemies.

According to legend, Perseus founded the city of Mycenae in the Peloponnese. He established it as his capital, and the city later became the center of the Mycenaean civilization, known for its Cyclopean walls and the Lion Gate.
