King Uija of Baekje

King Uija became the 31st and last king of Baekje after the death of his father, King Mu. His reign was marked by political instability and military decline.

King Uija formed an alliance with Goguryeo's dictator Yeon Gaesomun to attack Silla. The joint forces captured several Silla fortresses, but the alliance ultimately failed to achieve lasting gains and provoked Tang Chinese intervention.

King Uija's army was decisively defeated by the Silla-Tang alliance at Hwangsanbeol. The Baekje forces under General Gyebaek were annihilated, leading to the fall of the capital Sabi and the end of the Baekje kingdom.

King Uija was captured by Tang forces after the fall of Sabi and taken to Tang China as a prisoner. He was exiled and died in captivity, ending the Baekje royal line.
