Ibrahima Sori

Ibrahima Sori led military campaigns that expanded the territory of the Imamate of Futa Jallon. He conquered neighboring non-Muslim states and incorporated them into the imamate, increasing its size and influence in the region.

Ibrahima Sori strengthened the authority of the Almami over the provincial chiefs of Futa Jallon. He centralized power and reduced the autonomy of local rulers, creating a more unified and stable state structure.

Under Ibrahima Sori's leadership, the Imamate of Futa Jallon reached its peak of territorial extent and political influence. The state controlled key trade routes and exerted hegemony over neighboring regions, becoming a major power in West Africa.
