Huneric

Huneric initiated a severe persecution of Catholics in the Vandal Kingdom, targeting clergy and laity. He banned Catholic worship, confiscated churches, and exiled or executed many bishops. This policy aimed to enforce Arian dominance.

Huneric became king of the Vandals after the death of his father Geiseric. He inherited a powerful kingdom but soon alienated the Roman population through his religious policies.

Huneric executed several relatives, including his brother Theoderic and other nobles, to secure his rule. These purges weakened the Vandal elite and created internal instability.
