George William of Hesse

George William was born as a prince of Hesse-Darmstadt. He was the younger son of Landgrave Louis VIII, and thus had little prospect of inheriting the throne, leading him to pursue a military career.

George William served as a general in the Prussian army under Frederick the Great. He participated in the later stages of the Seven Years' War, though his specific actions are not well-documented.

George William died at the age of 34, before achieving any significant independent command or political role. His early death meant he left little mark on history beyond his family connections.
