Eumenes III Aristonicus

Eumenes III Aristonicus led a rebellion against Roman annexation of Pergamon after Attalus III's bequest. He gathered support from slaves and the poor, promising a utopian 'City of the Sun' based on equality.

Roman forces under Marcus Perperna defeated Aristonicus's army at the Battle of Stratonicea. He was captured and later executed in Rome, ending the revolt and solidifying Roman control over the province of Asia.
