Cut Nyak Dhien

After her husband Teuku Umar's death, Cut Nyak Dhien took command of Acehnese guerrilla forces. She led attacks against Dutch troops, using jungle terrain and local knowledge to sustain the resistance for over two decades.

Cut Nyak Dhien was captured by Dutch forces after a prolonged pursuit. Her capture was a significant victory for the Dutch, as she was a symbol of Acehnese resistance. She was exiled to Java, where she died in 1908.

Following her capture, Cut Nyak Dhien was exiled to Sumedang, West Java. She lived under Dutch surveillance until her death in 1908. Her exile removed a key leader from the Acehnese resistance, but her legacy as a national heroine endured.
