Baeda Maryam I

Baeda Maryam I continued the religious and administrative reforms initiated by his father, Zara Yaqob. He enforced church unity, suppressed heresies, and maintained the centralized authority of the monarchy, though with less severity.

Baeda Maryam I led a military campaign against the Sultanate of Adal, responding to renewed Muslim raids. The campaign achieved limited success, failing to permanently pacify the eastern frontier.
