Artatama I

Artatama I sent his daughter to marry Pharaoh Thutmose IV of Egypt, sealing an alliance between Mitanni and Egypt. This diplomatic marriage ended hostilities and established a period of peace and cooperation between the two empires.

Artatama I negotiated a formal peace treaty with Egypt, defining borders and establishing trade relations. The treaty ended the conflict over Syria and allowed both powers to focus on other threats, such as the Hittites.

Artatama I maintained the Mitanni Empire's power and influence through diplomacy and military readiness. He kept the vassal states in line and defended the borders against Assyrian and Hittite encroachment.
