Compare Alexander I of Serbia with another historical figure:
Alexander I became King of Serbia in March 1889 at age 13 after the abdication of his father Milan I. A regency ruled until he came of age in 1893.
Alexander I married Draga Masin, a widow and former lady-in-waiting, in August 1900. The marriage was controversial due to her background and caused political opposition, weakening his position.
Alexander I and Queen Draga were assassinated in the royal palace in Belgrade in June 1903 by a group of army officers. The coup ended the Obrenovic dynasty and brought the Karadjordjevic dynasty to power.
