Shaka Zulu

Shaka kaSenzangakhona (1787–1828), Zulu king and military innovator, transformed the Zulu from a minor clan into a dominant African empire. He revolutionized warfare with the iklwa short stabbing spear and the "horns of the buffalo" formation, unifying much of present-day South Africa.
