Wiliame Katonivere

Katonivere was appointed as the Roko Tui Macuata, a traditional Fijian chiefly title and administrative role in the province of Macuata on Vanua Levu. This position involved overseeing local governance and customary matters.

Katonivere was elected as the President of Fiji by the Parliament, succeeding Jioji Konrote. As a Ratu from Vanua Levu, his election was seen as a move to balance regional representation in the presidency.
