Mohammad Yunus Qanuni

Qanuni was a senior member of the Northern Alliance, serving as a close advisor to Ahmad Shah Massoud. He handled political and diplomatic affairs, representing the alliance in international forums and helping to secure foreign support.

Qanuni served as Afghanistan's Interior Minister under Hamid Karzai, overseeing security and law enforcement. He worked to rebuild the police force and combat warlordism, though his tenure faced challenges from factional violence and corruption.

Qanuni was elected Speaker of the Wolesi Jirga (House of the People), Afghanistan's lower house of parliament. He held the position until 2011, playing a key role in legislative processes and balancing ethnic and factional interests in the post-Taliban government.
