ICJ judge turned Jordanian prime minister.
Awn Khasawneh, a former International Court of Justice judge, was appointed Prime Minister in October 2011. His appointment was part of King Abdullah II's response to Arab Spring protests, aiming to bring a reformist figure.
Khasawneh resigned in April 2012 after only six months in office. His resignation was due to political deadlock and inability to push through reforms, as well as tensions with the parliament and the palace.
